Sarah and Stephen

One of the greatest perks of this job is being able to meet and work with a lot of great people. The best source of marketing for me is word of mouth, and since word of mouth spreads like wildfire in my small town, I get to meet many “friends of a friend” on a regular basis. I need to give a giant shout out to one person in particular who has helped the wildfire spread a little faster about me around here. Some of you may be here because you first heard about me when Megan of Megan Morrison and Moxie in Dekalb, IL wrote about me in her blog a few months ago. This one post of hers has brought many clients to me this year and I am so grateful! I was so excited to read the nice things she had to say because I have been a fan of her awesome shops for years. Both stores are packed full of fun and funky furniture and awesome accessories and the walls are just splattered with tons of eye candy! They feature both vintage and new items and are the coolest places to find things to give as gifts. I LOVE these shops! So, if you have not yet visited either one of these places, you MUST go! Seriously. And THANKS, Megan! You are the BEST!

What does all this have to do with Sarah and Stephen? Well, I wouldn’t have had the fabulous opportunity to photograph their wedding last Saturday if it weren’t for Megan’s post about me! On to some photos of the happy couple…

Sarah’s sister helping with makeup…

Meanwhile, Stephen was in the midst of a nice, clean shave.

I love this shot of the girls room!

Sarah and Stephen see each other for the first time! This moment was incredible!

Some casual portraits of the gorgeous bride and studly groom…

All of these photos were taken at the barn that Sarah’s grandma owned while she was alive. All of the kids in Sarah’s family grew up playing here and it is still a very special place to them.

Sarah’s dad gave Stephen a giant hug when we were doing formals!

The fabulous wedding party–I LOVE the girls dresses from Anthropologie.

This is definitely my favorite shot of the day. Sarah’s dad walking her toward her groom.

There was a little bit of an Asian theme going on with the food and decor!

The speeches were awesome!

Sarah and Stephen, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day! I am so happy for you and wish you all the best in your marriage!

Katie- I was the maid of honor in this wedding. You were awesome- even before I saw the pictures I knew they would be great based on your personality. You didn’t rush us or freak out when we were running behind. You were very laid back and calm when the rest of us may not have been. The pictures are beautiful. These pictures are memories for a lifetime and I can’t imagine them being captured more beautifully. What a gift for our family to have such wonderful snapshots in time captured like this. thank you!

Sarah - The Bride - July 24, 2008 - 5:28 pm

Katie, You were so amazing to work with! You made the experience so wonderful, it would have been very different if we had not been lucky enough to get you! I am very rarely photogenic, but you performed a miracle and I absolutely LOVE the pictures!!! You were so patient with me and my crew and so kind to stay over an hour more than I had originally asked you to.
Anyone reading this who has not worked with Katie, she is amazing and you will be very lucky to have her photograph you and your event.
Thanks again Katie, and I am so excited to see the rest of the pics!
