    Mom and Son!

    Meet Tricia of Tricia Lee Photography and her son, Chandler! Tricia contacted me about a month ago to book me for a fun shoot of her and Chandler as a birthday present to herself. I was very honored, of course, but I was also a little nervous about this shoot because a.) I had never done a shoot with mom and son before, and b.) Tricia is a great photographer! But we all had a great time together walking the streets of Naperville, looking for different backdrops for our shenanigans. Chandler is a senior in high school this year and he hopes to play college football next year–he is an awesome player! I also focused a bit on Tricia as well because she said she wanted some new promo shots of herself. So, without further ado, some of my favorite shots of the day!

      That’s an awesome shoot! I had a mom-client contact me about doing a similar thing with her teenage son, but the son would have NO PART OF IT. Oh how I wish he could hav been more like Chandler. What an amazing gift he’s given his mom! (And himself too though he might not appreciate that just now.)

I knew you would do a great job, but you totally exceeded my expectations. As I always tell my clients, you can’t get these times back, so you better capture them while you can, and even though I would much rather be behind the lens…you made this painless for us both.     Beka and Wes are Getting Married!

    Last week I had a fantastic engagement session with Beka and Wes at Navy Pier in Chicago. It was SUCH a fun place to go and I was so excited because I had been wanting to shoot there for a while! We managed to navigate our way through the crazy crowds and we found some secluded and some not-so-secluded spots to shoot. And we were so fortunate to have an amazingly gorgeous day to boot!

    Here are some of my favorites from the day.

    Since we couldn’t get on the ferris wheel because the line was way too long, I had to grab a ferris wheel shot somehow!

    I love this casual portrait of Beka and Wes. Aren’t they insanely cute?!

    A mini photo-booth session…

    Of course, we had to stop here…

    We went inside for a quick break from the heat and ended up finding some really cool light.

    We zipped on over to this GORGEOUS spot overlooking the Chicago skyline.

    Is this the best location or what?

    Thank you so much for such a great day Wes and Beka! I had a wonderful time hanging out with both of you and I can’t wait for your wedding next year!

    Stefan and Ana are Getting Married!

    Last week I went into Chicago and hung out with Stefan and Ana. We had lunch with our mutual friends Brenna and Ryan, checked out their awesome upcoming reception site, The Swedish American Museum, and then the three of us headed on over to the Depaul University campus to take some engagement photos. It was so great to have them in front of my camera, and I am SO excited for their wedding that is coming up.

    On to some photos… 

    Stefan and Ana met and started dating in high school, and then they both went to college at Depaul. Needless to say, this campus has been the setting to much of their relationship. It was the perfect place for our session!

    Let’s begin by saying that Ana is GORGEOUS! 





    Towards the end of our session I realized that Stefan had been holding out on me. He revealed to me that he is, in fact, Spiderman. WHY did I not know this before???!

      I found you from a comment on jessica Claire…LOVE your style and work! It’s great and very refreshing!
      I have two girls, and they are 2 years apart - 3 1/2 and 20 months. You must be VERY busy with your boys being so close! If you have any pointers on how to keep a HAPPY balance…I would LOVE to hear them! It seems as though every day is a constant search for the balance. :)

    Amy and John are Married!

    You may remember Amy and John’s engagement photos from a few blog posts ago. I was so blessed to be a part of their wonderful wedding! They had a gorgeous day, no rain, and a lot of wonderful family and church friends to celebrate with.

    I arrived just as Amy was finishing getting ready. Here she is right before seeing John!
